Do u ever wonder about these news reporters? One said “It’s a miracle the Hudson plane landed safely”?
I live in NY and the plane that crashed yesterday b/c a flock of birds hit the engine has been on the news since yesterday. It’s all over the media to thank God all the passengers survived and likened it to a miracle.
Sometimes, I see these types of commentaries through the eyes of R&S, and I think to myself
“No, it’s actually NOT a miracle Mr. Reporter, b/c if you’re thanking God the plane landed safely and no one was injured, than by the same token, why aren’t you damning God that the plane was put in jeopardy in the first place?” He could have redirected the birds, you know. I wish his co-anchor would’ve chimed in with something to that effect but it would’ve been, rightfully, inappropriate..or would it?
Normally, I wouldn’t analyze a comment like that much but R&S has made me a bit more aware on these types of remarks from the media.
How does on air comments like these make you feel and has R&S made you more attentive to these types of interpretations?
lisa – are YOU suggesting that God allowed the plane to be hit (unless you’re saying He didn’t see that part) and put his cape on covered them in a shield bubble for 15 minutes while simultaneously ignoring every other part of the world in need of his superpowers? WHERE WAS HE WHEN PEOPLE DIED ON THE LAST PLANE CRASH?
